Then, Now, and Always

Journey Through Time with Georgina

A New Novel.

Available Now.

Hello Everyone

My name is Don Spangler

I’m excited to announce that my new novel, Then, Now, and Always, is now available on Bookshop.org and Amazon.com.

The novel centers on Georgina, a brilliant but emotionally isolated teen orphaned by the attack on the Twin Towers, who finds herself back in early 20th-century New York City, where she agrees to undertake an urgent mission to change the future.

Georgina works and interacts with historical figures like Theodore Roosevelt and Ida Tarbell as she seeks to accomplish her mission. She also experiences contemporary events like the Suffragist Movement, the sinking of the Titanic, and the Armory Show.

The novel grew from my love of the history and architecture of Lower Manhattan, where much of the novel takes place, and my fascination with the events leading up to World War I and their aftermath. So, to augment and illuminate the events of the story, I'm posting an array of cultural artifacts from the period.

Please explore the pages and let me know if there are any topics you'd like to know more about. I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks!

The Sights and Sounds of the early 1910's...

I’m sharing images and music from the 1910s, when the actions in my book take place. Below you'll find an array of stereocards with scenes of New York City and World War I. And here you can listen to traditional popular recordings and songs about World War I.
